Through GEMS, we take great pride in the education and development of our students.  As all of their success and achievements may not take place directly within our supervision, we try to acknowledge these achievement through our GEMS "Spotlight".  Periodically, we showcase a few Gemmers who have displayed a form of either improvement or outstanding achievement. 

 

Paige Woods

 

Paige Woodes is a former GEMMER that attended Paisley IB Magnet Middle School and graduated from Parkland Magnet High School.  Paige recently graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Social Studies and  African American Studies and her Master of Science degree in Comparative Social Policy at the University of Oxford, Social Policy and Intervention Department.

Her professional and academic interests are centered around issues pertaining to communities of color in America and how policy production and implementation impact them.  She currently manages Black Women's Leadership and Policy Council of Detroit.
